How Much Raw food should I feed my dog?
When it comes to feeding your furry friend raw dog food, there's a simple rule of thumb to keep in mind. For a dog to maintain its ideal weight, you'll want to aim for about 2-3% of their ideal body weight per day. To start off, it's generally a good idea to begin at around 2-2.5% and keep an eye on their weight. If you notice any changes, you can adjust the amount of raw food accordingly – whether it's a little more or a little less.
We recommend starting at 2-2.5% and monitoring the dog’s weight, increasing or decreasing the amount of raw food given as required. Puppies: we recomment 6 - 8% of their body weight.
Now, if you have a pup that's packing a few extra pounds or seems a bit too light, don't fret. You have the flexibility to tweak their food intake to match their needs. Just make sure you're keeping a close watch on their weight so you can make those adjustments as needed. Remember, every dog’s metabolism is different, and their nutritional needs can vary. While feeding guidelines are handy, they're more like helpful suggestions rather than set-in-stone quantities. So, it's all about finding that sweet spot that suits your individual dog and keeps their tail wagging happily.
